My Little GIRL

Something I've become more cognizant of the last few weeks is how much Gabriela is not a little toddler anymore. Now, I know this, but seeing this current transition seems to be much more different than any of her other transitions (ie. crawling, rolling, walking, talking). She is definitely a little girl... and a chatty one at that. She has officially reached the "chatter box" stage. The other day we went out shopping (lots of stores = holiday shopping) and I think her talking to me the entire time was more tiring than the in and out of stores. Whew!

Hmm... she's been at pre-school for three months now and you definitely get plenty of papers, projects, etc. A tip I had read one time was to A) Limit the space to keep things, sorting them periodically to determine what is still the most significant and B) Particularly for kids art projects, hang them up, take a picture, then start all over again.

I'm definitely doing B, and some variation of A.... Here is pic #1:

She is definitely growing up. Her first musical program will be next week. Then there will be another one at the preschool later in the month. It's so cute and her English is coming along pretty well.

This is an odd observation. She's been in her big girl bed (a regular twin bed) for almost 2 years (give or take) and with just a regular size pillow next to her, she has rarely fallen out. But recently she's taken a few more tumbles and sadly enough there is no carpet here to cushion the fall. This past week she fell hard enough she got a bruised cheek bone and slightly swollen face. Needless to say, we went and got one of the bed rails the next day. And as life would have it, it also happened two days before school pictures! Of course.

Glad she's enjoying preschool! It's funny how fast that transition seems to happen. One moment they're a toddler- the next they're a kid.
