Cabin Fever

My poor little girl has been suffering from cabin fever lately. Life is busy for starters, but winter has arrived and if it hasn't been raining here this winter, it's been chilly enough to want to stay inside for the most part. But last week she was insistent that she go outside to play. Well, I gave in and we went to the park across the street where we spent a lot of time this summer/fall. Well, I've never seen a happier child just running and jumping and running some more. We got to see the very full river too - right up to it's edge! We spent just over an hour outside playing... and she did sleep rather well that night. Fortunately, it was cold, but not frigid and there was no wind (I've always said that is what makes winter so miserable - the wind!). Here's her little red cheeks when we finally came inside for some hot chocolate.
She kept telling me she was not cold, but when she went to the bathroom after returning, she exclaimed "Mommy, my legs are red!" Which, indeed, they were. It was so worth it - she loved it!
