Labor Day Weekend

We took advantage of a long weekend since we have school now and have to mind the days off and all and headed off to Ohio. We got in late Friday night, but were up early on Saturday to help my dad with an outdoor project he has been working on. We wanted to give him a boost with some extra hands. So I got to burn some old wood, we put up a temporary fence after removing it, then started removing old metal posts and digging post holes. We had to break by lunchtime because it was just too hot. My father and husband returned to the work that evening once the sun was going down, but I went up to see my Grandma. We had a nice dinner and she always loves Gabriela's visits. The worst thing though is having to leave because we know it will be a while before we get back to see her. This time she gave Gabriela a ride on her scooter ;)



Sunday we went back to work digging more post holes, but we got several done quickly with three of us working at it together. We broke even earlier due to the heat and hard work and Dad and I did some shopping for supplies. Then that afternoon my "sister" Jenny and son came over for a bbq. He is the cutest little boy ever! He's just over two but talks so well and in full sentences... he's adorable! Gabriela was a little jealous though, even though she likes trying to "help" him out. She was great at getting the little kid to do the dirty work for her... she got him to go ask his mom for a popsicle (before dinner) and he didn't even know what he was asking for, but he asked so sweetly for one! LOL! They got one after dinner. He also got to go sit on my dad's tractor, which he was so excited about.



Monday was the holiday, so Dad and his "posse" got all dressed up for the parade.
